Cheryl L. Homschek, 53, died at home on Wednesday after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, George.

Born Nov. 16, 1959, in Pittston, daughter of Rita Redmond Hensley and the late Russell Hensley, she was a 1977 graduate of Pittston Area High School and a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Hughestown. Cheryl was employed by Bank of America as a manager in the call center in Moosic.

Cheryl will always be remembered for her generosity and thoughtfulness to all who knew her.

She is also survived by her beloved Collie, Pal; sister, Rita Pahl and husband, David, Pittston; a brother, Dr. Thomas Hensly and wife, Deborah, Maryland; a sister, Debbie Cramer, Old Forge; sister-in-law, Rita Wall and husband, Tom, Harding; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Clarence and Henrietta Hensley; Harry and Leona Redmond; and brother-in-law, Buddy Cramer.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 8 p.m. at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston. The Rev. Robert Sauers and the Rev. Dr. Denise Brown will officiate. Interment will be private. Friends may call Monday from 4 until service.
