Claire M. Longo, formerly of the Tripp Park section of Scranton and Vestal, N.Y., died Tuesday at Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre, after an illness. She was the widow of Edward F. Longo Sr., who died in 1991. The couple was married for more than 44 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Genevieve Barbuti Marzani. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, she also attended Marywood College. Before her retirement, she was employed by the Burtz Department Store, Endicott, N.Y.
Her cooking and baking were legendary, she prepared delicious treats for countless performers and famous personalities, and everyone will miss her special talent.
She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother; she also loved her grand-doggies, Coco, Brie, William, Girly Boy and especially the late Bud.
She is survived by a daughter, Dianne Longo, Mountaintop; a son, Edward F. Longo Jr. and wife, Lisa, Windsor, N.Y.; a grandson, Edward F. Longo III and wife, Jennifer; a sister, Lorraine Bush and husband, Edward, Clarks Summit; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Marzani.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St. Interment, East Canaan Cemetery.
