Daniel J. Rinaldi, 64, of Dunmore, died Tuesday morning at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. He is survived by his wife, the former Theresa Scrimalli. The couple celebrated 44 years of marriage on April 24.

Born in Scranton, son of Theresa Tomko Rinaldi, Dunmore, and the late Michael Rinaldi, he was a 1966 graduate of Dunmore High School and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was the owner and operator of the former Whistles Pub and Eatery in downtown Scranton for 15 years and the owner and operator of the former Rinaldi Construction, Dunmore. He enjoyed traveling and attending sporting events with his many friends, especially, R.J., Ben and Larry. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving are a grandson, Michael Daniel Rinaldi Jr., Scranton; sisters, Barbara Sensi, Moosic; and Jane Orthlano and husband, Victor, Jessup; brothers, Michael Jr., Scranton; Richard and wife, Nancy, Taylor; Thomas and wife, Donna, Clarks Summit; and Ken and wife, Cindy, Moscow; sisters-in-law, Joanne Murrin and husband, Bill, Nicholson Twp.; and Rose Kobeski and husband Fran, Dunmore; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alyssa Rinaldi; a son, Michael D. Rinaldi; and a brother-in-law, Carmen Scrimalli.
The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
