David Batchelor, Ledgedale, died Tuesday evening in the Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center after an illness. His wife of 69 years is the former Mabel M. Frisbie.

Born in Ledgedale, he was the son of the late William and Anna Nellis Batchelor. He was a graduate of the former Lake Consolidated School and was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. Before retirement, he had been employed as a school bus contractor for more than 40 years and was also a self-employed dairy farmer and bee keeper.
He loved hunting.
Also surviving are sons, Ted and wife, Cheryl, of Lakeville; and Tom of Ledgedale; daughters, Laurel Eime and husband, Arthur, of Bath; and Susan Klonoski and husband, John, Ledgedale; grandchildren, David, Richard, Edward, Kim, Jason and Barry; five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Ted, Edward and William; and sisters, Frances Batchelor and Ruth Huntington.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
