Denise "DC DAY" Lenchak

Denise "DC DAY" (Coleman) Lenchak, 52, of Hudson, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Allied Services, Scranton. She was born in Mount Carmel, Pa., on Feb. 8, 1965, and was the daughter of Ronald J. Coleman and the late Terri A. (Covaleski) Coleman. She is the stepdaughter of Theresa Coleman.

Denise was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School. After high school, she immediately started to work in the field of radio communication. Radio and rock were her passions. She was a radio personality for 35 years, starting her career at the age of 17 working for WMIM in Mount Carmel. Throughout the years, she worked for WSPI FM 95.3 in Shamokin, Pa., Rock 100 in Allentown, stations in the Williamsport radio market, FM 102.9 in Pittston and, most recently, for WEZX FM Rock 107 in Scranton. She loved music and concerts (attending more than could be counted), as well as the many coworkers and fans she met over the years.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Paul Lenchak of Laflin; her brother, Gary Coleman and his wife, Shelly, of Mount Carmel; and her nieces, Sierra and Gabriella, whom she adored. Also surviving are her Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Dennis of Coal Twp., her Aunt Maryann and Uncle Bill of Maryland and her Uncle Jack Coleman of Mount Carmel; along with her very close friends, Elaine, Jorjann, Rhonda and Paula.

Funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Denise requested that family and friends make a donation in her memory to the Lakota Wolf Preserve, 89 Mt. Pleasant Road., Columbia, NJ 07832; or to Blue Chip Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road., Dallas, PA 18612.
