Dora Mancuso Obituary

Dora Mancuso, 88, a resident of Old Forge for 87 years, and more recently a resident of Attleboro Village in Langhorne, died Sunday afternoon.

Born in Old Forge on Sept. 1, 1923, daughter of the late Tobia and Concetta Comita Mancuso, Dora was a graduate of Old Forge High School before earning her degree from Lackawanna Business School. Before retirement, she worked in the credit department for 30 years at Scranton Dry Goods. At age 65, she worked at Rohr Factory in Old Forge. She was a devoted member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church/ Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.

Surviving are a sister, Virginia Mancuso, Old Forge; five nieces, Phyllis DiBella, Cynthia Helsel, Connie Meehan, Wendy Blum and Heidi Nicholson; many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Angeline Moffa, Emma Jaffe, Helen Jaeger and most recently, Jennie Mancuso.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Old Forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. Louis T. Kaminski, pastor. Interment will follow in Old Forge Cemetery.
