Doris J. Biggar of Taylor died Tuesday at home. Her husband, Walter Biggar, died in July 2005.

Born in Duryea, daughter of the late Delbert and Mabel Goldsworthy Danks, she was a 1948 graduate of Duryea High School. She was a member of the United Baptist Church in Taylor, a member of the Martha Washington Chapter 3, Order of the Eastern Star, had served on the board of the Riverside School District and was president of the board in 1979. She and her husband owned and operated the Biggar Paint and Wallpaper Store in Taylor for many years.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Traditional Home Health Care and Hospice for the kind and loving care given to their mother. Doris was loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are three daughters, Jill Zambetti, Scranton; Linda and Sandra Biggar, Taylor; a son, Jack Beck, Justus; five grandchildren, Brooke, Scott, Jack, Jennifer and Amy; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Tullet; and a brother, Ronald Danks.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor, with services by the Rev. David Erickson, pastor of the United Baptist Church, Taylor. Interment will be at Marcy Cemetery, Duryea.

Visitation will be Friday, 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Baptist Church, Church Street, Taylor, PA 18517.
