Dorothy M. Sviatko, 80, formerly of Peckville, died Saturday at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa., Scranton. She was the widow of Frank J. Sviatko, who died Dec. 13, 1999.

Dorothy was born in Eynon on Jan. 20, 1934, a daughter of the late Anthony and Kathryn Smolsky Bliss. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville and served as a lector and Eucharistic minister. She was a graduate of Marywood College, receiving a master's degree in guidance. She was a retired guidance counselor at Valley View High School, where she worked for 38 years. She enjoyed golfing with her sisters and friends and had a hole-in-one at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course.
Surviving are two sisters, Ruth and her husband, William Davis, Scott Twp.; and Juliana and husband, Edward Piccini, Greenfield Twp.; and two nieces, Kitty and Sarah.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 N. Main St., Archbald, with Mass at 9:30 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Willow Street, Peckville, with Monsignor Peter Madus officiating. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
