Edward J. Novak, a resident of Jefferson Twp., died Friday evening after admittance to Geisinger Community Medical Center. His widow is the former Annette Koltis. They were married Nov. 11, 1997.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Edward and Rosemary Fitzsimmons Novak. He attended and was a graduate of Forest City Regional High School in 1967. Ed was employed in the North Pocono School District maintenance department and previously worked at Thomson Consumer Electronics for 29 years. He was a member of Christ the King Parish in Archbald.
He was an avid outdoorsman and a Corvette enthusiast. His children and family were his pride and joy.
Also surviving are sons, Edward A. Novak, at home; and Andrew Novak, Mount Cobb; a daughter, Leigha Rose Novak at home; sisters, Rosemary Lubaszewski and husband, Thomas, Forest City; and Carol Flynn and husband, Patrick, Pleasant Mount; nieces and nephews, Thomas Lubaszewski and wife, Louise; Michael Spataro and wife, Karen; Michelle, Christine and Karen Spataro; Kara and Drew Koltis; Jennifer Shiner, Brad and Eric Kaub; Kevin, Melissa and Breanna Gaffney; and his mother-in–law, Anna Koltis.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 420 Church St., Archbald. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Viewing will be Monday 5 to 8 p.m.
