Edward J. Pistack, 77, of Plains Twp., died Sunday morning at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp. His wife of 52 years is MaryAnn Wegrzynowicz Pistack.

Born July 19, 1935, son of the late Joseph and Josephine Pierog Pistack, he was educated in Plains Twp. and graduated in 1953. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1958. Edward was employed by the former Pa. Gas and Water Co. and the VA Medical Center, Plains Twp., from where he retired in 1992. He was a member of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre.

He is also survived by a daughter, Carolyn Pistack Nebraski and husband, Jeffrey, Covington Twp.; a son, Joseph E. Pistack and wife, Marie, Plains Twp.; a sister, Dorothy Kegley, New Boston, Texas; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexander Nebraski; Thomas and Mary Jean Pistack; and Nathan Swartz; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Parish of St. Benedict at St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, 155 Austin Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek.

Relatives and friends will be received by his family Tuesday at the church from 5 to 8 p.m. A rosary service will be held at 6. Arrangements by Kielty-Moran Funeral Home Inc., 87 Washington Ave., Plymouth.
