Elizabeth Begin, 89, of Eynon, residing for the past four years in Holmdel, N.J., died Wednesday evening at Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Lincroft, N.J., after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Michael.

Born March 16, 1923, in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Elizabeth Luchko Ceresko. Before retiring, Elizabeth worked as a seamstress for many years for Casket Shells Inc., Eynon.
Surviving are her daughter Mary and husband, Tom Marhevka, Colts Neck, N.J.; a granddaughter, Stephanie, Jackson, N.J.; a grandson, Stephen, New York City; and two sisters, Veronica Bias, formerly of Olyphant; and Martha Zelna, formerly of Eynon. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Ceresko.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, 417 Main St., Eynon. Interment, St. John's Cemetery in Jessup.
