Ellen Cherry, 87, a resident of Manor Care, Bethlehem, and formerly of Olyphant, died Friday at Manor Care, Bethlehem. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas N. Cherry.

Born Oct. 19, 1925, in Olyphant, Ellen was the daughter of the late Peter and Nellie Dziama Jula. She was a graduate of Olyphant High School and, before her retirement, had been employed in the local garment industries. Ellen was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Olyphant.
Surviving are sons, Thomas and wife, Louise, Mountaintop; and Douglas and wife, Shirley, York; daughter, Lisa, Bethlehem; and four grandchildren, Christian, Michael, Jessica and Jacob Cherry.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Walter "Sonny" Jula.
Requiem Service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, East Lackawanna and Gravity avenues, Olyphant, by the Very Rev. Vladimir Fetcho. Interment will follow at St. Tikhon's Monastery Cemetery, South Canaan. Family and friends may call on Monday from 9 to 10 at the Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant.
