Frank C. Gowarty, 82, of Raleigh, N.C., passed on Sunday morning February 17, 2013; recognized as the same day God called Moses home.

He was born July 10,1930, to the late Frank and Rose Gowarty of Scranton, Pa. He was a member of St. Raphael Church in Raleigh for 42 years and a family member of the Disciples Bible Study Group. A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by wife, Amy, of 61 years; his children, Glenn and wife, Martha of McAllen, Texas; Dave and wife, Trudie; Frank Gowarty Jr. and wife, Ann; daughter, Nancy Howard, all of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Enoch, Amy, Jasmine, Ashley, Morgan, Savannah, Dylan and John; sister, Adeline and husband, Joe Rama, of Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his sister Winifred and husband, Joe Repshis, and grandson, Nathan Howard. Frank was a Navy veteran and served on the carriers USS Coral Sea and USS Sicily and retired from IBM after 26 years.
A memorial service will be held at St. Raphael Church, Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013. The gathering will begin at 10 in the Atrium and followed by a Mass at 11 and a procession to the Columbarium afterward. Condolences: rfhr.com.
