George Aloysius Druckenbrod Jr., 90, of Mountaintop and Chapman Lake, died Friday at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, Scranton. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Bedell.

Born in Scranton, son of the late George A. Sr. and Helen Melody Druckenbrod, George was a student at Holy Cross College before serving in the Army during World War II. He then returned to Holy Cross to complete his degree. Before retirement, George worked as a claims adjuster for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. He was a member of St. Jude's Church, Mountaintop.

Also surviving are daughters, Marguerite "Peggy" Mannion and husband, Judge Malachy Mannion, Chapman Lake; and Nanci Druckenbrod, Scranton; a son, Dr. Glenn Druckenbrod and wife, Renee, Fairfax Station, Va.; and grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Jason and Cara Mannion, Alexander and Matthew Druckenbrod.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack; and a sister, Shirley.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Jude's Church. Interment will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart would be appreciated. McCune Funeral Service Inc. is handling the arrangements.
