George Bolak, 86, formerly of Simpson, died Monday at the Forest City Nursing Center.

Born in Simpson, son of the late Theodore and Anna Bebla Bolak, he was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson, and served in the Navy during World War II. George retired as a vice president with Provident National Bank, Philadelphia. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Greek Catholic Church, Simpson, and the Paciga VFW Post 4712, Simpson. He spent most of his life in Warminster, Pa., and recently moved back to his hometown. George was always on the go. He loved and enjoyed his family and had a love for horse racing, attending almost every day.
He is survived by five nieces and nephews, Joanne Morrison and husband, John; Debra Evonishon; George Evonishon; Cindy Oetzel and husband, Tim; and Andrew Bolak and wife, Maureen; a sister-in-law, Rita Bolak; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Stephen, Frank, John and Andrew Bolak; and two sisters, Julia Tokarczyk and Helen Evonishon.
The funeral will be Friday from the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson, with Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in SS. Peter & Paul Greek Catholic Church, Rittenhouse Street, Simpson, by the Rev. Myron Myronyuk. Interment with military honors, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
