George E. Rebar, a resident of Scott Twp., died Saturday night at home. He was the husband of A. Patricia Rebar. They had been married 53 years on Sept. 5.

Born in Olyphant, he was the son of the late George and Mary Potachnik Rebar. He attended Olyphant schools, was a 1950 graduate of Olyphant High School and a 1961 graduate of the University of Scranton. George was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War, and was a member of St. John Vianney Parish, Montdale. He was also an avid golfer, being a senior member at Elkview Country Club for many years.

George was a devoted, loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.

His family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the people who cared for George during his illness.

Also surviving are two sons, James D. Rebar and wife, Debbie, Dickson City; and Thomas G. and wife, Kristine, Harleysville; a daughter, Suzanne Rebar Lambert and husband, Michael, Chapman Lake; and eight grandchildren, Kelly, Michael, Thomas, Emily, Carolyn, Christopher, Stephen and Matthew.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Parish, Corpus Christi Church, 704 Montdale Road, Montdale. Interment will be private. Friends and relatives are asked to go directly to the church the day of the funeral.

Friends and relatives may call Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m.
