Georgetta M. "Georgie" Davies of West Scranton died Friday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband of more than 16 years is Howard Davies.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Margaret Gibbs, she was educated in Scranton schools. She was employed as a group leader by the ARC of Northeastern Pa.
Georgie, as she was affectionately called, was a very giving and kind person, a devoted and loving wife, mother and sister; her family was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed caring for all animals and was a member of the Humane Society and St. Patrick's Church.
Also surviving are a daughter, Marissa M. Davies; and a son, Corey R. Davies, both at home; two sisters, her twin Georgina Patchoski and husband, David, Throop; and Kathy Ciullo, Scranton; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two nephews, Michael Ciullo and David Patchoski Jr.
A blessing service will be today at 7 p.m. in the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave., Scranton. Interment at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, will be private at the convenience of the family.
