Janice Munley, 72, of Archbald, died Friday, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, at Commonwealth Hospice, Scranton. She was the widow of Archbald Chief of Police M. Donald Munley. Her companion of 14 years is Cesar Rospigliosi.

Born in Mayfield on Nov. 14, 1941, daughter of the late George and Gertrude Morgan Iyoob. Janice was a member of Christ the King Parish, Archbald. She was a retired seamstress, working in several local dress factories, and was a member of the ILGWU. She was a two-term Archbald borough councilwoman, and served on its Christmas decoration committee.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Janice is survived by two daughters, Donna Munley Jordan, Archbald; and Janice Siefring and husband, Mark, Archbald; five sisters, Shirley Morcum, Jermyn; Joyce Hahn and husband, Tom, Moosic; Pat Byler, Archbald; Linda Munley, Scott Twp.; and Cindy Kamora and husband, Jerry, Lake Ariel; eight brothers, Bill and wife, Edna Iyoob, Dickson City; Jack and wife, Shirley, Greenfield Twp.; George and wife, Andrea, Archbald; Joe and wife, Joe-Ellen, Scranton; Jim and wife, Gabriele, Indiana, Penn.; Bob, Dickson City; Rick, Scranton; and David and wife, Gidget, Greenfield Twp.; three grandchildren, River and Nathan Jordan and Morgan Siefring; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 N. Main St., Archbald, with Mass at 9:30 at Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Interment, St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Archbald.
