Jean Marie (Craven) O'Connell, formerly of Mount Cobb, died in Holly Hill, Fla., on Feb. 6, after a long illness.

The youngest of nine children, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Mary Mecke Wittenbreder. She graduated from Jefferson Twp. School and retired as a teacher's aide at Jefferson Twp. Elementary School.
Jean's priority was always her family. She loved devoting her life to her sons and took a special joy in her two granddaughters, Brooke and Carley Craven. She enjoyed caring for her flowers and shrubs in her yard and cherished the friendship with neighbors and friends, especially Mary Lou "Sis" Brundage, whom she grew up with and to whom she was very close.
She is survived by her husband, Edward O'Connell; daughter-in-law, Marcia Learn; two granddaughters, Brook and Carley Craven; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Craven; two sons, Kenneth and Bradley Craven; four brothers; and four sisters.
Services and inurnment will be held at a later date in Mount Cobb. Once the weather is better, she will be laid to rest with her sons. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home, Ormond.
