Jerry David Pavlick, 74, of Peckville, died Monday morning at Regional Hospice of Scranton. His wife is the former Delores Tomassoni. Together they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Born in Peckville, he was the son of the late Stanley and Johanna Pavlick. He was a graduate of Blakely High School, class of 1957, and earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Scranton. Beginning his career with Sikorsky Aircraft, he then proceeded independently in his employment as co-owner of Dog 'N Suds restaurant, co-owner of Community Building Services and finally, independent owner of Discount Food Products until his retirement. In addition to his many achievements as an avid entrepreneur, he was a longstanding member of Elkview Country Club, where he golfed regularly. He was also an enthusiastic and active member of the Valley View School Board.
Jerry was a true gentleman who will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who knew him. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
Also surviving are three daughters, Jill Fabri, Peckville; Amy Ferretti and husband, Joseph, Peckville; and Karen Sherwood, Boston, Mass.; an aunt, Adele Szymansky, Peckville; five proud grandchildren, Jessica and Joseph Ferretti, Erica, Nicholas and Emily Fabri.
The funeral will be Thursday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. Interment will take place at St. Francis Cemetery, Eynon.
