Jo Ann Frances Kurimchak Hludzik, 56, of Dickson City, died Friday evening at Lackawanna County Health Care Center following an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hludzik, in September 2007.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Kurimchak. She was a graduate of Mid Valley High School, class of 1975, and a graduate of the Career Technology Center in 2004, earning a certificate as a certified nurse's aide. She worked for many health care companies and facilities throughout the area.

Jo Ann was a loving and compassionate sister, wife, mother and aunt. She enjoyed baking, gardening and was also a talented artist, who enjoyed designing and decorating cakes.

Surviving are two sons, Christopher and Johnathan Hludzik; a sister, Mary Lou Mooty; several nieces and a nephew.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup, with Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Byzantine Church, Jessup. Interment will take place at the parish cemetery.
