Joan Long Beck of Jefferson Twp. died Nov. 15, at her home following a lengthy illness.

Born Sept. 23, 1934, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine McCarthy Long. Joan was self-employed for many years as owner/operator of three hair salons in Hamlin, Lake Ariel and Hawley.
Joan was a wonderful cook and baker and loved to crochet. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara J. Plociniak and husband, Ray, of Moscow; a son, William P. Rist and wife, Maryann, of Scranton; a sister, Barbara Kohler and husband, Donald, of Temecula, Calif.; four grandchildren; four great-grandcildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday from the Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church St., Moscow, with the Rev. Arthur W. Davis, as officiating clergy. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.
