John J. Kundla Jr. died Saturday at Riverside Rehab and Nursing Care Center, Taylor. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Agatha Kielich; and his second wife, Louise.

He was born in Dupont, son of the late Joseph and Anna Gala Kundla. He was a graduate of Dupont High School and Phoenix School of Art in New York City. John served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Before retirement he was employed as a commercial artist for the Ruben Donnelly Co. He was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Pittston, and a member of Kundla VFW Post, Dupont.
Surviving are a daughter, Stephanie Johnson of Taylor; two grandsons, Gregory and Kevin Johnson; a niece, Dolores Visniski of Dupont; several other nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor, with Divine Liturgy at 10 at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, 251 N. Main St., Pittston.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Parastas service will be at 6.
Interment will be at St. Michael's Parish Cemetery.
