Josephine Cucarini, 89, of Peckville, died Sunday at the Laurels at Mid Valley.

Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Serafino and Artemisia Cucarini. She immigrated to this country at age of 3 and resided in Peckville ever since. She was a graduate of Blakely High School and was employed in the garment industry. Later, she became a beautician and owned her own beauty salon. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville, and its Altar and Rosary Society. She also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of Shopa-Davey VFW Post 6082, Peckville.
She was a loving sister, aunt and great-aunt who enjoyed her family.
Josephine's family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Laurels at Mid Valley for the extra kindness and compassion afforded to her and her family.
She is survived by a sister, Ann Cucarini, with whom she resided; a brother, Raymond Cucarini, Archbald; two nieces; one great-nephew; and two great-nieces.
The funeral will be Thursday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville, with a blessing service at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
