Kathleen Marie Hunter, 72, of Honesdale, died Sunday at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen L. Hunter, on Nov. 4, 1986.

Born in Honesdale on Sept. 5, 1940, daughter of the late Lester Lloyd and Catherine Rita Polt Holbert, she was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1958.
She began working as a clerk in bookkeeping at the former Farmers and Merchants Bank in Honesdale. Over the years, she took courses at Bucknell University and Bankers Institute of America. After 30 years at the bank she retired as vice president.
Kathy was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, the Lake and Brook Association and the Wayne County Business and Professional Women and in 2001 was voted as the Professional Woman of the Year.
Her pride and joy were her grandsons, "Her Boys."
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Canfield and husband, Lloyd, of Doylestown; sisters, Mary Ellen LaPoint and husband, James, of Honesdale; and Margaret Davis of White Mills; grandsons, Lloyd Tyler Canfield and Michael Glen Canfield; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Nichelle Marie Canfield.
The funeral will be Saturday at noon in Hessling Funeral Home Inc., 428 Main St., Honesdale, with the Rev. Lloyd Canfield officiating. Friends may visit Saturday from 10 until service time.
