Kazue Crothamel of Lake Ariel died early Friday morning in Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center after an illness. Her husband of 58 years is David A. Crothamel.

She was born Aug. 20, 1931, in Hokkaido, Japan. Her family name was Ueda. Kazue married David, who was serving in the Army, on May 24, 1954, and became a naturalized citizen of the United States on March 9, 1959. Before retirement, she had been employed by the Vermont Sportswear Co. as a seamstress.
This is the passing of one of the most kind and humble persons that ever were.
Also surviving are a son, Allen E. Crothamel, Lake Ariel; daughters, Tomiko Prichard, Dunmore; and Michiyo Vangellow and husband, Paul, Virginia; two brothers and two sisters in Japan; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, David, in 1978.
Cremation will take place in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of the James Wilson Funeral Home.
