Linda Brister of Carbondale died Saturday at Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center, Blakely. She was the wife of 53 years of Harold Brister.

Daughter of the late Kenneth and Lailah Lovelace Hadden, she was born in Lanesboro, on March 24, 1940. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Nicholson, as well as the Nicholson Ladies Auxiliary.

Family oriented, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are daughters, Rebecca Oakley and husband, Joseph, Childs; and Abby Gajda and companion, Alex Wardlow, Childs; sons, Timothy, Union Dale; Lucas and wife, Debbie, Olyphant; and Matthew and fiancée, Dawn, Carbondale; daughter-in-law, Michelle Brister, with whom she resided; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home, 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with services at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Margaret Hartman. Internment at Willow View Cemetery in Clifford.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
