Lois Levis Obituary

Lois M. Levis, R.N., 64, a resident of the North Pocono Area for more than 30 years, died Tuesday morning in the Inpatient Hospice of Mercy Hospital. Her husband of 28 years is Robert E. Levis.

Lois was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Kincel Kryzanowski. She was born and raised in Taylor and was a graduate of Riverside High School where she was proud to be Miss Viking. She pursued a career in nursing, which she cultivated and enjoyed throughout her life. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wilkes College, after which she was a registered nurse at Scranton State Hospital and several of the other area hospitals. She was especially dedicated to her private-duty patients and volunteered her medical services to the community by serving as team or camp nurse for sports and youth organizations. In recent decades, she was the owner and operator of LML Paramedical Services Inc., Moscow, a business she created in her home when she was caring for her young children which grew to a company which employed many nurses and medical technicians and offered services in seven counties in Northeast Pennsylvania. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church.

In addition to all of her personal accomplishments, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who possessed many artistic talents. She loved to travel both nationally and abroad and took every opportunity she could to enjoy what the world had to offer.

The family would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of the eighth floor of Mercy Hospital and also the nurses and staff of the Inpatient Hospice Unit for the wonderful compassionate care and many acts of kindness offered during Lois's illness.

Surviving are three daughters, Brenda Kobal-Duddy, and husband, Michael, Madison Twp.; Michelle Williams, and husband, Jack, Spring Brook Twp.; and Danielle Levis, Madison Twp.; two sons, Brian Kobal, Spring Brook Twp.; and Jason Kobal and wife, Elizabeth, Tampa, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Joseph Fanocchio, Jordan Kobal, Sabrina Jack Jr. and Victoria Williams, Rebecca Kobal, Andrew Williams and Michael Duddy Jr.; two brothers, J.
