Lori King Obituary

Lori A. King, 47, of Taylor, died Sunday at home after an extended illness.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Aloysius King and Diane J. Smith, Lori was a graduate of West Scranton High School, was of the Protestant faith and had been employed as an insurance agent in North Carolina until her illness.

She is also survived by a sister, Michelle Georgia and husband, Patrick, Archbald; three brothers, Brian Eggert and wife, Kathleen; Joseph Smith and fiancée, Jodi Baranowski; and Al King Jr., all of Scranton; and her stepfather, with whom she resided, David Smith, Taylor; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Lori lived a fulfilled life and was always the life of the party. She never passed up a chance to dance and have a good time. Lori will be missed by all who knew her and her beautiful smile will live on in our hearts. Lori's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the CareGivers of America for the compassionate care given to Lori.

A celebration of life will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Ave., West Scranton, with services at 7:30 by the Rev. Terry Ribble. Inurnment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Cathedral Cemetery.

I didn't know Lori personally, but her brother Al and I have been best friends for 20 or more years. From what he says she was a wonderful woman and fun loving person. All my thoughts and prayers are with her family at this great time of dispear. My the Lord take you to his kingdom where you can be at peace. All my love to you dear Lori. I am shocked and saddened to hear of Lori's passing. Lori was a very sweet and kind person. Although it has been much time since I saw her last, I feel like it was just yesterday when we all shared some good times together.
