Lovey Tenio Lubniewski, 84, of Peckville, died Thursday morning at the Laurels in Peckville after a brief illness. She was the widow of Leonard J. Lubniewski Sr., who died in 2011.

Born and raised in Jessup, daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Zeock Tenio, she was a graduate of Jessup High School, class of 1945. She was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Jessup. A resident of Peckville for the past 50 years, she was employed in the local garment industry before her retirement.

Lovey made friends easily and cherished her lifelong friendships. She loved people and would light up a room, and once you met her, you never forgot her.

Lovey's family would like to thank the staffs of the Laurels, Southerncare Hospice and the Mid-Valley Hospital for the wonderful care that they all gave her.

Surviving are two daughters, Diane L. Lubniewski, Peckville; and Lisa A. Newell and husband, Bill, Suffolk, Va.; her grandson, Nicholas J. Lubniewski, Peckville; a brother, Albert Tenio and wife, Sandra, Clarks Summit; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Leonard J. Lubniewski Jr.; and a sister, Barbara Yontas.

The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, 313 First Ave., Jessup. Interment, parish cemetery, Jessup.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m., with Parastas at 4 p.m. Donations may be made to Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church or to the .
