Lucy Podracky Mateychick, 84, formerly of Watson Street, West Scranton, died Tuesday at Morris View Health Care Home, Morristown, N.J. Her beloved husband, John, died April 26, 2008.

Born on April 7, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Susan Kaschak Podracky and was a 1945 graduate of Taylor High School. Lucy worked as a machine operator at Good Manor Dress and retired from Irene D's, Taylor. She enjoyed bowling and bowled in several church leagues. Before its closing, Lucy was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church, Taylor, and was a parishioner of Divine Mercy Parish. Lucy was a lady of great faith and will be dearly missed by her family.
Surviving are a son, John M. and wife, Cheryl, Arlington, Texas; and a nephew, John Kippycash and wife, Iris, Denville, N.J., who were her caregivers.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Anna Kippycash; and two brothers, Michael and John Podracky.
The funeral will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1 in Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., by the Rev. Francis Pauselli. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
