Margaret Ann "Peggy" Devine died Jan. 2 at Holy Family Residence. She was the widow of Joseph J. Devine, who died in 2005. The couple was blessed with 60 years of marriage. They were a peach of a pair.

Peggy was born May 23, 1924, in Scranton, daughter of the late Patrick and Stella McCormick Kelly. She was a proud graduate of Holy Rosary High School, class of 1943, and a devoted member of Mary, Mother of God Parish.

Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very proud of her six sons and their families. A lifelong Democrat, Peggy was a committeewoman in North Scranton for more than 30 years.

Surviving are six sons, Robert and wife, Christine; Paul and wife, Marianne; and Kevin, Scranton; Gerard and wife, Nancy, Le Raysville; Joseph and wife, Debbie, Lake Ariel; and Patrick and wife, Ann, Peckville; nine grandchildren, Kim Tesluk, Kelly Devine, Colleen Devine, Jessica Gregorski, Sarah McCracken, Adam Devine, Paul Devine, Molly Devine and Joe Devine; four great-grandchildren, Madison and Aubrey Tesluk; Donovan and Troy Gregorski.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Joyce and Helen Foley; brothers-in-law, Robert Devine, Jerry Joyce and James Foley; and a daughter-in-law, Ann Marie Devine.

Peggy's family is grateful for the loving care and support of the staff members, sisters and residents of Holy Family and for the exceptional, professional care of Dr. Barry Minora. The family would also like to acknowledge Clarks Summit Senior Living and their staff for the six years Peggy was a resident.

The funeral will be Monday from the Edward Knight O'Donnell Funeral Home, 323 William St., Scranton. Mass, 11:30 a.m., Holy Rosary Church. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.

Viewing, Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m. Friends attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Residence or Mary, Mother of God Parish.
