Margaret "Peg" Cossa, 94, a lifelong Jessup resident, died Saturday at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was the wife of Gene Cossa, who died on February 23, 2003.

Born in Eynon, she was the daughter of the late Louis Giovagnoli and Esther Antinori Giovagnoli Vispi and was a graduate of Jessup High School class of 1938. She was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Church, Queen of Angels Parish in Jessup, and was a member of the Over 50 Club. Prior to her retirement, she and her husband owned and operated Cossa's Market on Powell Avenue in Jessup for 40 years.

Peg was a woman of great strength and compassion. Her greatest joy was being with her family. Although Peg never had children of her own, she was always surrounded by many children throughout the years, and especially at her store, where many of the neighborhood children were touched by her kindness and generosity. She loved and was loved by many.

Peg's family would like to thank the entire staff of Traditional Hospice and her caregivers for the love, care and compassion shown to Peg throughout her illness.

Surviving are her sister, Ann LaPenna, Bangor; two sisters-in-law, Ange Giovagnoli, Jessup; and Pearl Stella, Detroit, Michigan; her nieces & caregivers, Charlotte Holecko, Jessup; and companion, Paul Krohn, Hazleton; Cheri Pasqualichio and husband, Bill, Clarks Summit; and Barbara Giovagnoli, Moosic Lakes; her nephews, Ray Giovagnoli and wife, Eileen, Dalton; and Mark Giovagnoli and wife, Georgann, Prospect Park, Pa.; several great-nieces & great-nephews; a great-great-niece, great-great-nephews & cousins.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Coccodrilli and Evelyn Vispi; and two brothers, Raymond Giovagnoli and Harry Vispi.

The funeral will be Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church Street, Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of Angels Parish in St. Michael's Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.
