Mary A. Mulderig, 84, a resident at the Lackawanna Health Care Center and formerly of Scranton, died Sunday morning at the center.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late John E. and Nora Cavanaugh Haggerty, she was employed in the needle trades for more than 40 years before retirement. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and volunteered for Telespond of Scranton. She was also a companion and greeter at the Senior Citizens Center, Scranton.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who loved helping people. She enjoyed traveling and attending family gatherings. She will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank the staff in wing D and C1 at Lackawanna Health Care Center for their compassionate care.
Surviving are two daughters, Ellen Sweeney, Scranton; and Mary Alice Santorsa and husband, Robert, Dickson City; one son, Joseph J. Mulderig, Wilkes-Barre; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Claire Munley, Kearny, N.J.; one brother, Paul Haggerty and wife, Natalie, Kenmore, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Joseph J. Mulderig; and two brothers, John and Jerome Haggerty.
The funeral will be Thursday with Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Friends attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.
Viewing will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Edward Knight O'Donnell Funeral Home, 323 William St., Scranton.
