Mary E. Gaeton Biko of the Bellevue section of Scranton died Friday morning at home. Her husband of 59 years, Charles Biko, died Aug. 14, 2001.

Born and educated in Scranton, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Shea Gaeton, she was a member of St. Patrick's Church, West Scranton, and a former member of Holy Cross Church.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She instilled in her children the true meaning of unconditional love. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are two sons, Charles M. Biko Sr. and wife, Deborah, Clarks Summit; and Paul Biko and wife, Carmel, Harrisburg; three daughters, Linda Mills and husband, Jessie, New Milford; Joanne Smith and husband, Bill, Pittsburgh; and Maureen O'Shea, and husband, Brian, Coral Springs, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan Laskowski, Scranton; brother-in-law, William James, Scranton; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor James.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Oram Street, West Scranton. Entombment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Hours of visitation will be private.
