MaryAnn Brenzel, 81, of Blakely, died Tuesday at the VNA Hospice and Home Health Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was the wife of George Brenzel. They had been married for 33 years.

Born in Jessup, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Kotcho Mihalik, she attended St. Michael's School in Jessup and was a graduate of Blakely High School. She was also a member and former president of the Shopa-Davey VFW Post 6082 Ladies Auxiliary in Peckville.
Also surviving are two sons, Bob Perkowski, Denver; and Leo Perkowski, Melbourne, Fla; a daughter, Geri Healey, Scranton; and her loving stepchildren; two sisters, Christine Zyats, Charlotte, N.C.; and Loretta Wilkes, Harrisburg; a brother, John Schott, Peckville; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, 702 River St., Peckville, by the Rev. Jack Munley, chaplain of Home Health Care Professionals and Hospice. Interment of cremains will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Peckville.
