Michael A. Gallucci of West Scranton died Wednesday morning at Mid-Valley Hospital after being stricken ill at the Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center, Blakely. He and his wife, the former Patricia Walsh, would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in June.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Joseph and Angela Napoli Gallucci, he was educated in Scranton schools and was a graduate of West Scranton High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. He was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal (Japan). Before his retirement, he was the owner and manager of Gallucci Upholstery. He was a member of St. Lucy's Church, West Scranton.
Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Gene Sabia, Scranton; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gus and Francis; and a sister, Marion Sabia.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church, West Scranton. Entombment, Cathedral Cemetery.
