Michael Pasterchik, 59, of Carbondale, died Friday at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Michael and Jean Mauro Pasterchik. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, class of 1971. He worked as a union laborer. He was a member of American Legion Post 221, Carbondale, and a member of the Moxie Club, Carbondale. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard, union Local 158, and the Heavy Highway Labor Local.
He enjoyed playing golf, making soppressata and spending time with friends at the garage.
Surviving are a son, Michael Pasterchik, Ohio; a daughter, Brianna Pasterchik, Forty Fort; a brother, Thomas Pasterchik, Carbondale; aunts, uncles and cousins; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home, 2 Hospital St., Carbondale, with services in the funeral home at 9 a.m. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery, Carbondale.
