Mildred T. Stone died on December 9, 2013, at the VNA Inpatient Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was 95 years old. Her husband, Bruce Stone, died in 1978.

A resident of Clarks Summit since 1940, Millie was born April 1, 1918, in Scranton, daughter of Edward and Jenny Lloyd Thomas. She was employed by Abington Manufacturing prior to her retirement. Millie was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed visiting with her family, and had a loving nature that was enhanced by her sense of humor. She enjoyed playing cards, puzzles and visiting with her many friends. She was a member of Clarks Green United Methodist Church.

Millie is survived by her son, Bruce and wife, Linda, Clarks Summit; daughter, Linda Bei and husband, Dave, Clarks Summit; her granddaughters, Brittney Hoppel and husband, Chris; Lesley Widergren and husband, Mark; Kirsten Snyder and husband, Scott; and Ashley Neher and husband, Ron; two sisters-in-law, Betty Thomas, Clarks Summit; and Mary Luce, Webster, N.Y.; also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Chase, Dean, Kristen, Jack, and Olivia; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mattie Evans and Helen Secor; and her brother, Edward Thomas.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411, with services by Rev. Brent Stouffer, pastor of the Clarks Green United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Shady Lane Cemetery, South Abington Twp.

Friends may call Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her memory to the VNA Hospice, 301 Delaware Avenue, Olyphant, PA 18447; or Clarks Green United Methodist Church, 119 Glenburn Road, Clarks Green, PA 18411.
