Minerva "Peg" Manzer, 70, of Harford, died Monday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit, Scranton. Her husband of 52 years is Jesse W. Manzer. They were married Oct. 15, 1960.

Born Feb. 19, 1942, in Blairstown, N.J., she was the daughter of the late George and Helen Counterman Shipps. She attended the Blairstown High School in New Jersey and worked at the Nicholson Blouse Co., Nicholson Rug Factory and cleaned and catered for 35 years at the Elk Mountain VFW Post 8488, Lenox. She also worked along side her husband at their family business, Jesse's Sawmill, Harford.
She was of the Methodist faith, enjoyed quilting, crafts, horror movies and traveling to Florida with her husband. She also had a love for her cats, pigs, chickens and rabbits. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Jessica Louderback and husband, Jim, of Harford; four grandchildren, Monica Manzer and wife, Mindy, of South Gibson; Karen Vail and Jerry Vail Jr., both of Harford, and Austin Manzer of South Gibson; one great-grandson, Kyle Kvaltine of South Gibson; four sisters, Beatrice Feflie of Glassboro, N.J., Judy Talley of York, Diana DeMund of Stroudsburg, and Linna Barker of Bangor; two brothers, Samuel Shipps of Delaware, N.J., and Marshall Shipps of Effort; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Joseph W. Manzer; one daughter, Kathy Manzer; five brothers, Henry, George, Clifford, Lemuel and Robert Shipps; and three sisters, Carmella Bell, Eva Morris and Helen Carpenter.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, celebrated by the Rev. Lynn Tompkins, officiating. Interment, South Harford Cemetery.
