Mollie J. Moran, a resident of St. Mary's Villa Nursing Center, Elmhurst, formerly of West Scranton and Old Forge, died Saturday at the center following an illness. She was the widow of Francis A. Moran, who died Dec. 23, 1996.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late John and Carmella Esposito and stepdaughter of Marion Caolo Esposito, she was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and Lackawanna Junior College. She was a former member of the Abington Alamanders and a longtime member of St. Lucy's Church.

Mollie enjoyed playing cards and was an accomplished square dancer. She was a great cook and excellent baker, who quilted at St. Patrick's Church. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her children, attorney John Moran and wife, Patricia, Holmdel, N.J.; Susan Landers, Centreville, Va.; Gerald Moran, Norfolk, Va.; Paul Moran and wife, Gabriella, Wheaton, Md.; Linda Moran and fiancée, Carmen Flynn, Roaring Brook Twp.; Martha Moran, Moosic; Ruth Moran, Centreville, Va.; and Kathryn O'Brien, Scranton; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings Mae Gilbert, Scranton; John Esposito, New Jersey; Michael Esposito, North Carolina; Marion Badwak, Florida; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Lucy's Church, 949 Scranton St., Scranton. All attending are asked to proceed directly to the church. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
