Nancy Hallett Rogers, Olyphant, formerly of West Scranton, died early Sunday morning at the Mountain View Care Center after an illness. She was the widow of Thomas "Schooner" Rogers Jr., who died in 2004.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Woodruff "Woody" and Florence Jenkins Hallett, she was a graduate of West Scranton High School and a member of the former Washburn Street Presbyterian Church and its Sunday school. Nancy was also a member of the Junior Welsh Society and the Lake Sheridan Cottage Association.

She enjoyed her many hours of crafting and sewing, which many of her friends will remember her by.

Surviving are a son, Tom Rogers and wife, Dorrie, of Olyphant; as well as her longtime friend, Shirley Walsh.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Vanston and James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash St., Scranton, officiated by the Rev. Earl Cassel. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
