Patrick Reedy Obituary

Patrick Joseph Reedy, 58, of Falls Twp., died at home Saturday.

He was born May 6, 1959, to the late Leo C. Reedy Sr. and Joanne (Perks) Reedy-Mirabelli.

Patrick served in the Army in the 309th Transportation Company, working as a watercraft operator and was ranked as an SP 4. He was an Atomic Veteran and worked on the Enewetak Cleanup Project. He was a strong advocate for the Atomic Veterans. He continued to stay very close to his military buddies, especially Todd Lentini who passed away, Jeff Dean, Mike Riggins, Bryan Butterfield and many others. He traveled to see them and went to many reunions. Patrick loved fast cars, demolition derbies and mechanics. In addition, he loved traveling and the ocean. Throughout his life, Patrick worked in construction as a truck driver and was always happy to travel.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Sacred Heart, especially Maureen and Ellen, for their kindness and compassion the past few weeks.

Patrick is survived by his brothers, Leo C. Reedy Jr., Throop; and Joseph P. Reedy, Carbondale; his sisters, Kathryn Racavich, Scranton; JoEllen Ferkile and John, Dickson City; and Helen Coles, Scranton. He is also survived by his last living aunt and godmother, Charlene (Perks) Todd, New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Patrick is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Dale and a niece, Christina Reedy.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Cemetery in Avoca. Officiating will be Father Phillip Sladicka.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., 728 Main St., Avoca.

Pat, what can I say, words can't begin to define who you are to me. I learned and experienced so much from you through out the years. I find comfort knowing you are on that perfect beach with no worries, pain free with your friends and family that have gone before you. Me, well I return to Virginia for good at the end of the month, the place that you introduced me to years ago is about to become my home once again. I carry you there in my heart. Rest in Peace.
