Patrick Muia Jr., 42, of Dickson City, died Dec. 18, at Jamaica Hospital, Queens, N.Y., after being stricken ill. He is survived by his wife, the former Tara Reeder.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Patrick Muia Sr. and wife, Laura, Archbald; and the late Augusta Mazzino Muia. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Parochial School, Dickson City, and Bishop O'Hara High School, Dunmore. After high school he attended the Ohio Diesel Technical Institute. He owned and operated Pat Muia Construction Co.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, son and brother, who enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley and being with his family. He was a man who worked well with his hands and he was a "Jack of all Trades." He donated his time and knowledge of construction to many people in need and he will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
Also surviving are his children, Wolfe Muia, Dickson City; and Shadeau Muia, Scranton; a sister, Nicole Shotto, Dickson City; step-children, Zackery and Brandon Spears; and Emma Sangiuliano, all of Dickson City; step-brother, Benjamin Allman, Archbald; nieces, Tamara "Annie" and McKaylee "Mack" Shotto, Dickson City; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City. Cremation will take place at Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Muia Children's Memorial Fund, c/o any Pennstar Bank Branch.
