Paul J. Bushta, 69, of Jessup, died Sunday afternoon at Mercy Hospice. He is survived by his longtime companion, Ann Kirtack.

Born in Peckville, he was the son of Anna Prokop Bushta and the late Joseph Bushta. He graduated from Jessup High School, class of 1961, and enlisted in the Army National Guard. He was employed at Sugerman's for 30½ years and retired from Keystone Propane. He was a member of Queen of Angels Parish, St. James Church, Jessup. A lifelong Jessup resident, he was a member of the Sherriff's Association.
He was a kind and loving father, grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed. He was an avid camper, who loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and hiking.
Also surviving are his former wife, Elizabeth "Cookie" Bushta, Jessup; a son, David Paul and wife, Lucia, Cherry Hill, N.J.; a daughter, Marie Evans and husband, William, Nicholson; four grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew, Ryan, and Alyssa; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Jr.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of Angels Parish, St. Michael's Church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
