Paul James McDade Jr., D.D.S., 78, of Clarks Summit passed away peacefully on Friday, March 8, at Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife of 55 years is Ann Teevan McDade.

Born on Sept. 21, 1934, in Scranton, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Mary Mahon McDade. He was a 1952 graduate of Scranton Preparatory School. He attended the University of Scranton and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Temple University in 1959. He served as a captain in the Army. Paul practiced family dentistry in Green Ridge for 40 years. He was a member of St. Gregory's Parish, Clarks Green, and the American Dental Society.
Also surviving are five children, Maureen Keena and husband, Tim; Patricia Ciccotti and husband, Dr. Michael; Michele McDade and husband, Joseph Herder; Paul James McDade and wife, Virginia; and Eileen McDade; two sisters, Maureen McDade O'Brien and Margaret McDade Kane. He was known as "Papa" to his 13 grandchildren and 20 nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green. All those attending the funeral are asked to proceed directly to the church the morning of the funeral.
Friends are invited to call Monday 4 to 7 p.m. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
