Paul M. Campbell, 79, of Harrisburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Campbell was born in Scranton and was the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Granahan) Campbell. He was retired from the U.S. Government, where he was a communications specialist. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, NARF, VFW, American Legion and the Sportman's Golf Club. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Marie (Warpus) Campbell; one daughter, Maryann Chiavetta and her husband, Thomas, of Harrisburg; two sons, James P. Campbell and his wife, Linda, of Leesburg, Va.; and Daniel P. Campbell of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Scott Chiavetta; Zachary, Abigail and Emily Campbell; and one sister, Margaret Mary Palutis and her husband, Joseph, of Seymour, Conn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Edward, John, Eugene, Joseph and Thomas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg. Burial will be at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 6011 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church or to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
