Richard John Tomko, 73, of Bluffton, S.C., formerly of Dickson City, died peacefully after a long-term illness on Friday, December 7, 2012.

He was born on December 16, 1938, to the late John and Sophie Urbanowicz Tomko. He is survived by his loving wife, of 47 years, Sandra (McCracken) Tomko of Bluffton.
Richard was a graduate of Dickson City High School and Lackawanna College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. He had a long, successful career with Burroughs/Unisys before retiring to South Carolina.
Richard is survived by daughters, Jacquelyn Villar and husband, Raul of Salt Lake City, Utah; Tracy Loban and husband, Joshua of Westborough, Massachusetts; brothers, Theodore; John and wife, MaryLou; and Philip (deceased); sisters, Barbara Brown; and Deborah Wilensky and husband, Frank; grandchildren, Matthew, Julia, Jenna, Katie and Chase; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City, Pennsylvania on January 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Internment in Saint Mary's Visitation Cemetery.
The family requests that any memorial gifts be sent to Saint Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City; or United Hospice of Beaufort, 1605 North Street, Beaufort, SC 29902.
