Robert Holmes, 86, of Wilkes-Barre and formerly of Archbald, died Friday at Timber Ridge Health Care, Wilkes-Barre. He was the husband of Dolores McDermott Holmes. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Lorraine Muskett.

Born Sept. 7, 1927, in Archbald, son of the late Rollin and Marguerite Quinn Holmes, he attended the University of Scranton and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired salesman for General Binding Corp.

Also surviving are sons, Paul, New York City; Mark, Waxahachie, Texas; and Dr. Brian, Greencastle; stepson, David McDermott; and stepdaughters, Eileen Matrunich and Sheila Nothoff, all of Harding; a sister, Joan Kearney, Archbald; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 N. Main St., Archbald, with Mass at 9:30 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Interment, parish cemetery, Archbald.
