Robert J. Pantle, 70, of Harrisburg, formerly of South Scranton, died Saturday at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William F. and Mary Evelyn Scholl Pantle. He attended St. Mary of the Assumption School and was a member of Holy Family Parish, Harrisburg. He was a retired employee of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the Army.
He was a loving son, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed.
Surviving are two sisters, Anna Mae McAndrew, Scranton; and Shirley Pantle, Upper Darby; a brother, Edward Pantle and wife, Thelma, Bordentown, N.J.; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Philip and William Pantle.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the August J. Haas Funeral Home Inc., 202 Pittston Ave., Scranton, with Mass at 11 in Nativity Of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard St., Scranton, to be concelebrated by his cousin, the Rev. G. Donald Pantle, S.J.; and the Rev. Michael Bryant, pastor. Interment, St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery, Scranton.
